Patient Safety Advisor
Our client, community acute care hospital located western suburbs of Boston, MA, has immediate opportunity for a Patient Safety Advisor. PSA will oversee and manage daily operations of the patient safety program and hospital wide patient safety initiatives. Works with Manager Quality and Patient Safety and the team for quality and patient safety. Responsible for oversight of patient safety databases, including identification of trends and rapid cycle improvement efforts. Performs Failure Modes Effective Analysis, develops analytic and measurement strategies, direct oversight for hospital’s incident reporting system, coordinate patient safety steering committee, coordinates the leapfrog and culture of safety surveys, provides ongoing information and education to medical staff, nursing and ancillary staff regarding patient safety.
BA degree in healthcare field required. MS degree preferred. Minimum ten years of experience in healthcare organization with minimum 5 years experience related to patient safety initiatives, development of improvement methodologies and data management. Solid project management experience preferred. Knowledge of RL Solutions and Leapfrog a plus. Competitive salary plus benefits.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR
Facility: 300-bed community hospital in Southeastern Connecticut
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of Quality plans, programs and annual reports. Monitor and evaluate patient care activities to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support, facilitate and participate in departmental, hospital, and system committees and project teams, including leading/facilitating hospital-wide CQI Teams.
- Identify issues proactively that are related to quality of care and make appropriate referrals, ensuring review, investigation and follow-through as appropriate.
- Lead and direct one or more key processes such as, quality, regulatory and risk management functions.
- Support assigned clinical cluster initiatives and hospital wide CQI Teams.
- Demonstrates statistical thinking skills, including knowledge and use of simple statistics, process variation and data analysis in order to provide analysis of data for CQI Teams and clinical cluster quality initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Registered Nurse with a BS Degree in Nursing or other clinical health related field from an accredited educational organization.
- MS in health related field preferred.
- Good knowledge of computer software including MS Word, Excel and Access preferred.
- Minimum of 5 or previous acute care clinical experience. Background in one of the following areas QI/QA/RM required.
- Experience with data analysis required.
- Experience working with regulatory systems (JCAHO, PROs) helpful.
- Experience in large group presentation and facilitation preferred.
- Must be able to use knowledge of QI/QA/RM to independently make appropriate decisions that may impact hospital's accreditation and financial well being.
